I thought my triumphant return to this blog would be an essay or something related to Home or at least a webcomic roundup. Then I saw today’s Home update (page 653) and said “OMG! I HAVE to talk about this panel.”
Why, just why would Kique release this page and think panel four is acceptable? Wonky anatomy is one thing, but not even being bothered to make sure Jahla isn’t floating? Come on. I get that she’s in a hurry to get where ever she’s going, but that’s just so lazy. How much effort would it have been to make sure at least one paw is making contact with the ground? And why is she so very, very high off the ground? This isn’t a running pose. We basically have a copy/paste pose with no effort to blend Jahla into the scenery followed with a “Yeah, that placement looks good and… upload!”
Kique, come on. I know you’re burned out on Home, but can we at least get minimal effort? At least floating characters hasn’t happened befor–

When I first saw that panel I was like “wait lol wtf” then I noticed that in the trot‚ theres a small point where dogs wont touch the ground and I thought ok but then I noticed how HIGH she was‚ and the fact that that isnt even the pose where there is no contact so wth? He could have done a panel where shes walking the other direction with a normal trot pose and a indication of turning around. Eeeeh. Everybody makes mistakes but this is such a weird mistake maybe he though dogs actually float idk. Btw why is Romé the same size as Jahla? Arent these dogs like smaller why is he suddenly big as a wolf why is-
Kique rarely double checks his work before uploading. It must have been on Patreon for weeks and either no one said anything or he ignored those who pointed it out.
As for Romé, Kique has stated in the comments on the public site that he’s large for his breed. Though he shouldn’t be as big as Jahla or Thakir. The easier explanation is that he’s another self-insert. Can’t have him being small and weak, so he gets to be freakishly large.
Im super pretty sure that professional comic artists check their work before publishing‚ most have editors but If you work without one at least check it. But well people are already reading his comic even with its trashy ass story so Im not surprised.
And the Romé thing is super weird? I remember that when he was introduced he was actually shorter than Jahla. Did he drink a lot of milk or something? Guess Kique cant have the guy be shorter than the girl even tho it would have been good‚ small in stature but big on brains type. Wasted potential again
Oh‚ and about Jahla and Romé’s relationship‚ I swear if Jahla cheats on Rhovanion when shes actually the only female in a relationship (and the only heterosexual one I reckon) will show Kique’s true colors on female characters.

Kique wants to be treated like a professional without doing the actual work. He wants no critique or criticism, but is happy to charge people to see his work and puts it out there.
You hit the nail on the head. Can’t have the guy be shorter than the girl. He’ll break his own lore just to enforce this. Never mind the fact that the Akiulfrs are just as big as the Shield Wolves and those guys were massive in Asmundr. If they’re just dogs with longer fangs and glowing lights on their heads, what’s the threat again?
Kique’s aversion to Jahla and Rhov is so weird. He’s done a complete 180 on them. He loved them in Asmundr, but in Home he keeps them apart for no good reason. I think the only reason he hasn’t made Jahla cheat with Romé is because he knows there will be a backlash. So he’s just teasing them for the sake of shippers or hoping to keep her and Rhov apart long enough so that people just won’t care anymore. And Kique has shown his true colors with female characters for a while now, hell even to the point where we no longer have heterosexual couples. I don’t mind the same sex couples, but why can’t we have both? I suppose female characters are just that distasteful to him.
