Hey Husky, welcome back!

A quick correction: Maximus The Revenant emerged during the peak of the uprisings between the anarchists and the monarchists. Subsequently it ended up forcibly ending the conflict by usurping the Diamond Monarchy and also rendering the anarchists powerless against it as well. Then the most influential socialites quickly flocked to Maximus' side to form The Panthera Ligo, a third unaffiliated faction.

Hope that clears things up a little!

"Sorry for the long post, but he has so many outs and takes none of them and for me at least it is just more disappointing than frustrating at this point."

Hey no problem! Great points all around! I really enjoyed reading your comment, Tyrill. Sorry it took me so long to see it.

I believe Solar Stag Tribe is his creation, as the tribe is named after the planet. But unfortunately, he didn't put a lot of thought into their roles. I get the feeling they're supposed to be the good guys, but there's a current of corruption, and Kique used that because this story needs multiple villains. Sometimes it feels like he didn't know what he exactly wanted the tribe to be before settling on making them evil.

I think the full turn happened around when Lowglade Tribe was attacked for their paint. You see, he DID have a co-writer and that was her tribe. When they had a falling out, he changed the course of the tribe from whatever she had planned into villains. Southspear was also supposed to play a bigger role.

Funny you mention Destiny Intertwined. The author of that comic used to be co-writer for Home, but again, they had a falling out. Khellir before he was corrupted into Marduk was his idea, and as well as the scene with Raimo being angry about Zilas' death. Whatever original plans were intended for Khellir went away with that co-writer. Thankfully he's found success with his own comic. But yeah, the way the dragons use elements to enhance their natural weapons is awesome.

If Kique had taken The Guardians of Ga’Hoole route, I think that would have been cooler than these human weapons that don't make much sense. Never saw GoG, but you're not the first person to bring it up. I do like your angle of having the natives do this, opposed to the Earth dogs. I feel like knives instead of spears a step backward, even for this series. Spears had range, so that made a bit more sense. There's not much happening with a knife that a dog can't do with their fangs. X_X

Given what Kique does to the IPs his previous writers added to the story like Marduk and the Bayou, I’m now wondering if SST was something an ex-writer of his added. Or maybe Solar Stag is just the product of this comic’s usual sloppy writing.
I do hope it gets explained why SST is attacking Asmundr though, as it's really stupid and we all know it is very likely that no Asmundr members will die but some SST will most definitely perish.

“Then it was more or less stated than an internal struggle between Matriarch Ninmah and Baron Faekas was happening offscreen,”
There are so many interesting things this story does offscreen and somehow the author doesn’t realize this! I’d personally would have love to see who voted for Kargo to stay in MT after he attacked Rogio and how that entire trial went or Ronja telling the tribe that she was going to give SST some land to burn bodies, I’d like to if any dogs would oppose her and how she handles it, but clearly that just like the Solar Stag internal conflict would be boring for Kique!

“And sickles are not the first go to for a weapon, unless you’re desperate”

This one just hurt, of all the weapons the dogs could use this one is the absolute worst!

“It would make more sense if the gods of this story gave the dogs tools that actually complimented their natural weapons. Think of metal teeth they could equip on to their muzzles into or boots for their front paws with long metal claws.”
Funnily enough, this line reminded me of a Spyro fan comic; Destiny Intertwined and how some dragons can do this.
Strong Ice dragons for instance can cover their claws and tails spikes/frills with ice to make them more deadly when fighting and this is despite the fact that dragons are already giant flying elemental breathing war machines.
Child abuse ahead!
https://destinyintertwined.thecomicseries.com/comics/98/

https://destinyintertwined.thecomicseries.com/comics/101/#content-start

Panel 1 on page 98 because it is to tiny but you get a full body view of how the adult dragon has his tail with the ice blade on the younger dragon’s neck.

https://destinyintertwined.thecomicseries.com/comics/102/#content-start

And on this page the ice blade slicing flesh, something a regular tail probably couldn’t do or couldn’t do so easily.

https://destinyintertwined.thecomicseries.com/comics/133/#content-start

And on pages 130-132 with the ice claws/tail blade.

Though in the story dragons do use at least spears, but they also have dextrous human like front paws so they are able to hold these weapons with their paws and not their mouths.

https://destinyintertwined.thecomicseries.com/comics/254/

Some stronger Ice dragons can even cover their horns and other part of their bodies to make armour from the Ice for protection according the comic’s wiki.

He really missed an opportunity to do this with the dogs, they are on a New Planet, he could make the locals/natives use this methods instead of just knifes as knives were also in Asmundr.
“They’re being wielded like swords, and it just looks dumb. Knife fights are bloody, brutal affairs, not neat little sword battles”
I saw the page and I really did think; Do people in a knife fight use them like that? It just looks so damn stupid!. If he’s going to give the dogs metallurgy, he could have definitely gone the route of The Guardians of Ga’Hoole with how the owls use metal talons despite the already deadliness of just regular owl talons.

Sorry for the long post, but he has so many outs and takes none of them and for me at least it is just more disappointing than frustrating at this point.

Yeah, I love when the plot makes them already dumber than they need to act. Why is Fraujar the only suggesting they actually track her? They should have been doing that since the girls ran to Ronja. X_X
